I'm Engaged! .... Now What?
On one knee in front of you pouring their heart out. You blank out, tears are falling down your face, and all of a sudden there is a ring on your finger. You're engaged! Now the fun begins!
Step 1- Enjoy the Moment!
This is a beautiful moment for you two. Before you alert the press, just take some time to be completely present with your new fiance. Although you can not wait to call your family and the MOH you always had in mind, don't forget who you are spending the rest of your life with. They just poured their heart to you, give them you heart in return.
"There is only one happiness in this life, to love and be loved" -George Sand
Step 2- Call Your VIP's
Before you get to posting the news on social media, take the time to call the most important people in your life. I know you are so excited to share the romantic pictures of how they proposed, but don't forget the others who have been by your side through thick and thin. They deserve to share in your happiness in a personal matter, not just find out with every other Facebook friend.
Step 3- Round Up the Troops
Now it is time to find your wedding tribe. Who will be standing with you at the alter supporting the love you have found? Don't just send a text or call to ask people to be in your wedding, make it special. We love seeing the personalized gifts mailed or given in person. After you have identified your tribe, host a small gathering so everyone gets to know each other. Brunch is our personal favorite.
Step 4 - Talk to a Professional
You have so many ideas and everyone has given you even more ideas and pictures to base your wedding off of. Take all these ideas and find a Planner who you will work well with. You are looking for someone with experience, listens well, and inspires you with ideas. Here at Irene & Co Events, we take every wedding personal. From the first message, email, or call - we are invested to know you and your inspiration for your wedding. Our philosophy is to make this process together fun and stress free.
